I thought it would be good to make a quick post to introduce myself.
My name is Sally and I will be taking over the position of chairperson of the PTA.
I'm very new to the school and the role so it might take a little adjusting to!
My eldest has just started reception and my youngest will be along in a few years so hopefully here for the long haul!
If you have any ideas or suggestions or you'd like to join up to the PTA (please) don't hesitate to send me a message!
And now for my first ask! We are looking for volunteers for bucket shakers for Fireworks night! This will be Friday the 8th of November at 5.30pm until the fireworks start at 7pm.
And for clean up the next day which is from 9am until about 11am.
Any time you could give would be fantastic!

PTA News and Easy Fundraising
We are very pleased to announce that following the extraordinary PTA meeting last night, the future of the PTA is looking bright with a newly appointed Chair and Secretary. Many thanks to all that attended!!!
There is always room for more friendly faces! Our next PTA meeting is pencilled in for 8pm on Wednesday 13th November at the school.
It was pointed out that one very helpful and profitable part of the PTA's fundraising comes from a very simple online tool that anyone can help with... "EasyFundraising!!!"
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could collect a free donation for Hanborough Manor CE School?
There are over 3,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation, including Amazon, eBay, John Lewis, Booking.com and Sainsbury’s – and it doesn’t cost you a penny extra!
It’s really simple, all you have to do is:
1. Join - Head to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/hmces/ and sign up for free.
2. Shop - Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first, pick the retailer you want and start shopping.
3. Raise - After you’ve checked out, that retailer will make a donation to us for no extra cost whatsoever!
There are no catches or hidden charges and our school will be really grateful for your donations.
Last year the EasyFundraising account raised over £700 which will be going back to help pay for equipment and experiences for our children. Free money for the school by just doing your usual internet shopping!!!

PTA - Extraordinary Meeting - Tuesday 15th October at 8pm
Message from the outgoing PTA
A Chair or Co-Chairs and new general PTA members are needed for the school PTA to continue this year. We must appoint a Chair if the PTA is to continue. More members are also needed to bring new energy and ideas to the table – being part of the PTA can be rewarding, fun and a great way to meet new people!
An Extraordinary Meeting will be held on Tuesday 15th October at 8pm in the School Hall, at which a Chair will need to be appointed. If this doesn’t happen, the PTA will cease for the time being.

What has the PTA done in the last 12 months?
• Raised over £7,000 through a range of events, including Summer Fete, Raffles, Easter hat competition, win £50 grid games, and more.
• Gifted money to the school to fund a Dyslexia Gold programme and Numicon maths resources, which are benefitting all year groups. Paid for new book bags for Foundation children and Year 6 Leavers’ books. Funded new netball bibs and purchased disco light equipment for the Christmas discos.
Without the PTA….
• Who will organise some of the fun ‘extras’ for children – like the Christmas discos, ice lollies on Sports Day, helping serve Christmas lunches, and providing refreshments at events?
• Who will be the driving force to fundraise for the special ‘extras’ that further enrich the children’s school lives?
The PTA future is in YOUR hands! Please come forward now if you can help…
PTA Fundraising update
Christmas performances, discos, cards and raffles all a distant memory? Well, we wanted to let you know that an amazing £2065.07 profit was raised for HMS PTA through all the different Christmas events...

🙂 Mulled wine and mince pies at Christmas performances - £122.40

This brings the PTA fundraising total up to just over £3186 since the start of the school year. All of the money will go towards supporting the children and school - we'll keep you informed about where it goes.
In the meantime, a massive THANK YOU from the PTA to all of you for your ongoing support, and also THANK YOU to all of you who continue to give up your time to help organise and run events. Look out for details of forthcoming events coming soon, including a cake sale on Friday 8th February… and feel free to join us on the PTA at any time.
