Liddington Day Two

What a day we have had today! After quite an early start (for some of us!), the children spent some time in their rooms with friends and preparing for their room inspections. They could earn points for tidy floors, bathrooms and beds as well as bonus points for jokes or dances. After a yummy breakfast of hash browns, bacon and toast, we got into our groups to start our activities. Our morning tasks were Eco Explorer (a scavenger trail around the grounds learning about nature where we hugged trees, went on a bug hunt and had a forest bath!) and Survivor (we learnt all about how to survive in the wild by building dens and making fires). The children showed great perseverance this morning, particularly when using the flint and steel to try and light their fires and in the surprisingly cold weather!

We then got ourselves ready for lunch - spaghetti bolognaise and garlic bread! After lunch we prepared for our two afternoon activities which were raft building and climbing. Again, we were so proud of the children for their teamwork skills and confidence when conquering the heights! Then we went for dinner (katsu curry or quorn nuggets) before heading to the shop to buy souvenirs. Straight after that we headed to a room for our hot chocolate before spending the evening singing songs and toasting marshmallows on the campfire! All in bed now hoping for a good nights sleep before one more day of fun! See you all tomorrow!
